💡 Palette’s take: Le Garage Moderne is a non-profit community hub in Bordeaux’s Bacalan district - combining a car and bike workshop, a subsidised neighbourhood canteen, and studios for 11 permanent artists and makers. This is the second year of the OASIs cycle, and the first since the venue reopened its 19th-century building after a two-and-a-half-year renovation. The brief explicitly invites artists to physically engage with the space’s scale and “hive-like” social energy - a genuinely site- and community-specific residency, not a quiet studio retreat.
