Open call for writers based in the UK or Ireland, not represented by an agent, to submit original stage play scripts.
Opportunity to join the Bush Writers’ Group for at least one selected writer.

Are you a writer that is not currently represented by an agent, based in the UK or Ireland and writes for the stage? Then we want to read your work!
We're looking for original voices and ideas - writers asking the big questions of today inventively, urgently and theatrically. This is an opportunity for us to find exciting new voices, learn more about who’s making work today, and begin conversations.
PLUS at least one writer will be offered a place on the Bush Writers’ Group!
➡ To submit:
Send a script sample (no more than 20 pages).
Send the full script of the same play.
Fill out a short form.
Deadline ⏰ 12noon Weds 26 August 2026.
Note: if we get close to hitting the maximum number of scripts we can read we might need to close our window early. We’ll aim to give you two days’ notice if we have to do this.
